In no particular order, here are some cartoons and drawings that I made around 2017-2018.
Remember the old Skittles commercials? I'm sure a thought about them prompted this cartoon.
My inner airplane thoughts, now here, lol.
*22 years ago. If this is hard to read, I apologize, but it's when I used to waitress at an Indian restaurant versus now ;)
I imagine this as an intro to a dramatic movie trailer.
This is our daughter, April, sitting on a giant pumpkin. I have a couple of her with pot-bellied pigs since I've always wanted one. At the time, I was just practicing drawing different Halloween scenarios with the different letters of the alphabet for a Halloween alphabet book idea.
Speaking of alphabet books, this is just a little scene of the kids reading/looking the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, which is a wonderful book, I recommend it!
I probably drew this giraffe from a story-telling prompt for a children's book.
Silly Grandma! I can't remember exactly how it came about, but there used to be a Pork add that ran and the slogan was, "Pork, the other white meat." And obviously Grandma made it her own ;)
Just a family portrait.. Jax is still cookin' in this one.
Someone said this to me while I was pregnant with Jax and so naturally I made the above.
Breastfeeding troubleshooting :/
I feel like the most difficult part of motherhood was the first year. Twos and threes were a breeze compared to the sleepless nights.
Canadian Geese... pfff. They keep showing up in my art, so they obviously have made a big impact on my life.
If you want a really good and tasty but easy cupcake, get the Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix. IT IS DIVINE; we just made some the other day with a whipped cream vanilla frosting. Three of us could've easily finished it in a day, but we stretched it out to two.
Grandma Spears and April :) They used to practice different kicks together, it was really cute.
This is our daughter April, age 3. We went to a restaurant called Clark's Fish Camp in Jacksonville that served up all kinds of interesting fare, including snake.
Just a dandruff cartoon.
annnnnddd... food again.
hehe :)
or it'll be a one star review and raving about it
This actually happened. Poor Brandon.
Did you know that slivers of cake can become half the cake, and then the whole cake? It happened to me recently with Betty Crocker chocolate cake ;)
This has been condensed into a sticker design and will be a tee design very soon. You can see the sticker here.
This one is going to be remixed for a grocery shopping tee. I'll be wearing it quite frequently.
This last one might be a little hard to "read," but it's a drawing of what I imagined when Grandma told me that she got a water gun to spook the Canadian Geese off her lawn when they got in her way.
I might just rework this one and make it into a t-shirt called, "Grandma v. The Geese!"
Would love to hear about your sketchbook/journaling practice!
Hope this was valuable to you in some way or another!
Thank you for reading!
